Adho Mukha Svanasana, Downward Facing Dog

This most basic and well-known asana is still a challenge for most yoga practitioners. Downward Facing Dog requires the arms and elbows to be straight, the top of head to face down, the back to be extended, the feet to be parallel with the toes forward and the heels to rest down on the floor. To explore this extraordinary pose, stay fully aware, breathe deeply, surrender and let go of tensions, pain and stiffness to access, embrace and overcome vulnerability and discomfort. The mind becomes empowered, centered and wise. The body restores the lost energy and rejuvenates. Downward Facing Dog is then experienced with a feeling of ease and relaxation.
Namaste.
