Evening yoga in the Kerala backwaters

Navigating the Kerala backwaters on a ketuvallam is the least intrusive way to get a feel of the activities of local people.
As the sun started to set, my evening yoga practice began with a thirty minutes meditation followed by a sequence of stretching asanas. Stretching improves blood circulation, allowing the muscles to relax. While holding the stretch for couple minutes, a release of endorphins happens, promoting a boost of happiness, strength, calmness and confidence. Deep breathing brings more oxygen to the body helping the heart beat to slow down inviting the mind to relax. Evening yoga dissolves the agitation of the day and eases fatigue to prepare the body and the mind for a good night sleep.

Namaste
