The mind has tendencies to never stop thinking of so many things at once. It often drains our energy and makes our decision-making difficult. A restless mind swings between like and dislike, good and bad resulting in more stress, more fear and less self-confidence. In the yoga sutras, Patanjali defines yoga as “citta vrtti nirodaha”. It is often translated as: “Yoga is the ability to calm/direct/restrain the fluctuations of the consciousness/mind”. A regular yoga practice along with yogi breathing techniques allows to mind to experience a state of calm resulting in more energy, more clarity in decision-making and more self-confidence. Be in nature, listen to soothing music, open up your heart and experience the grandeur of a silent mind.
