One of the major core principles of yoga is self-discipline. Why? Burning enthusiasm and determination are building blocks for transformation and self-realization. The goal of yoga is to harmonize the body-mind relationship. By essence the mind produces thoughts and finds its satisfaction in restless agitations and distractions. When the body moves with awareness to a space of stillness, the mind looks for other means of distractions. With self-discipline, the mind learns to follow the movement of the breath, resting in its deep and peaceful rhythm being here and now with the body.
