Presence

Do you remember the first big emotions you went through when you were instructed to keep social distancing? Do you remember how you felt when the schools closed and you had to organize home schooling almost overnight? Do you remember being overwhelmed and anxious? Do you remember panic emotions flowing all over you when you had to stop all your activities and cancel your travel plans? Do you remember when the airlines cancelled their flights knowing that you won’t be able to go see your children, your parents, grandparents? How did you manage those emotions?

Because we are all in this together, you feel stronger and supported. You enjoy every moment with your family. You feel blessed that you are confined with your loved ones. You enjoy cleaner air, fewer cars passing by and an overall sense of calm inside and outside. However, the minute you turn on the news, your anxiety levels raise making you vulnerable with stress levels so high that your body goes constantly to survival mode affecting deeply your immune system unable to fight back.

By nature, emotions come and go, draining your energy level. By nature, the mind is restless, craving for immediate fulfillment. By nature, human beings get bored easily.

Presence is something more than just slowing down your activities. Presence is that you are being AWARE that you are present with all emotions and all situations with a mind distancing.

Be present with the sounds in your home, in your building, in your neighborhood, in your city. Be present with your kids, spouse, partner. Be present in your relationships. Be present with the birds songs, the trees, the bushes, the flowers, the wind, the breeze, the sun, the moon and the stars. Presence is the only moment you can control. Anything before or after the present moment is not in your control.

Practice Presence in everything you do, see, hear, smell, feel and taste with a strong back and an open heart.

Namaste 🙏🏻
